Welcome to TBC UK

Let me to tell you about the idea I came up with when visiting London for a Youth Voice in Politics Evaluation Report launch event.

About

TBC UK is on a mission to help improve the political literacy of students around the United Kingdom (UK) in a fun and engaging way. We hope to achieve this by connecting with schools across the UK to deliver free workshops about politics. Every school we visit would be signposted to more resources and outreach opportunities to support their students in improving their political literacy. The students we visit would also get the opportunity to follow us on Instagram to get access to more resources about politics and ask questions for their local MP to answer in an annual report review.

What exactly do we do?

Basically, we ease the already busy schedules of teachers

1

We deliver politics workshops to any class size using  scripts created from sources like the UK Parliament

Example of Workshop Script

2

We adapt scripts prepared by teachers and deliver engaging politics workshops for their students

We signpost schools to other opportunities they can access to improve their students' political literacy

3

We are doing a survey asking how young people feel about politics and giving them the opportunity to pose questions to members of parliament (MPs)

Access our survey here

Here are some statistics

In the summer of 2023

5,543,840 students wrote the GCSE exams

Less than 1% of these students (21,813) wrote the GCSE Citizenship Studies Exam
